James Backhouse

Hi everyone! I’m James (He/Him), a second year PPE student from Tunbridge Wells. As JCR treasurer, I’ll be responsible for creating a budget and funding all the clubs, societies and initiatives set up by students at univ! I highly recommend getting involved in everything the JCR has to offer, from sports and creative societies, to welfare and entz events.
Personally, they’ve made an enormous difference to my first year, so definitely go to as many things as possible. Come along to JCR meetings to have your say about where JCR money should go!
Outside of being treasurer, you’ll see me a lot in week zero as your fresher’s rep, and if you choose to take up rowing (highly recommended), I’ll be your vice captain, responsible for organising outings.
